The Old Arrow
A moment to unwind in the city.
Located in Nishi-Ogikubo, The Old Arrow (オールドアロウ) pairs draft ale, Guinness, and an extensive selection of mead with traditional British pub dishes, from ale-battered fish and chips to hearty steak and ale pie.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Few pub experiences rival the comfort of sitting down to hearty dishes with a glass of aromatic Fuller's London Pride or a creamy, fine-foamed pour of Guinness Draught. Set underground in Nishi-Ogikubo, The Old Arrow (オールドアロウ) is a pub evoking the calm, understated atmosphere of a medieval tavern, serving traditional British flavors alongside a varied drinks list.
Headlining the food menu is the pub classic fish and chips, featuring cod fried to a crisp in a signature ale batter. Dousing the thick-cut, steaming chips with malt vinegar and pairing each mouthful with tartar sauce and mashed green peas delivers the quintessential British pub experience. Substantial comfort also comes in the form of steak and ale pie—tender stewed beef and mushrooms baked inside crusty pastry—and cottage pie, layered with minced meat braised in red wine beneath a browned mashed potato topping.
Beyond its beer taps, one of the pub's primary attractions is an extensive selection of mead (honey wine) sourced from Japan and around the world. Guests can explore this multifaceted drink by the glass, with offerings spanning light, accessible German Katlenburger to Lithuania's herbal and hoppy Stakliškės and Kyoto's Mitsuki. The drinks are complemented by a solid lineup of savory plates, including bangers and mash smothered in gravy, traditional Scottish haggis, and aromatic hummus.
Whether ordering a casual pint directly at the counter or gathering with a group over shared dishes, it serves as an approachable and dependable destination for the evening.
